The Young Leaders Award... is a unique active citizenship programme which empowers young people to make a difference in their local community whilst growing in key leadership skills at the same time.
The KS2 Award is based around a central character called Archie Bishop who is passionate about serving his community, changing the world for the better and encouraging other children to do the same!
The KS2 Award is a dynamic and interactive resource which will equip your pupils with key leadership skills and give them practical opportunities to change their communities for the better as they “be the change they want to see”.

Mr Ken Thorpe, President of Hornsea Lions and Cllr Ian Smith, School Governor, presented badges and certificates to all children who had participated in the Young Lead Award. They told children that they were the future of Hornsea and praised their efforts for making the community a better place.
Many parents and carers attended and said the following:
"My daughter absolutely loved participating in this scheme. It made her more aware of how to help the local community and she has helped even more at home in our family community."
"What a fabulous scheme to have at school! My son thoroughly enjoyed playing a part in the wider community. He had his own ideas as to what he could do to help the family, Hornsea in general and specific charities. Please continue to get children involved with community projects as it helps them to develop as wonderful children who appreciate the wider world. "
