Community & PTFA News

Welcome to the Community and PTFA News of Hornsea Primary School page. We have lots of exciting 'Community Events' showcased on our 'BLOG' and on our 'SCHOOL COUNCIL' page to show what has been happening in school.

We just wanted to say a big thank you once again to HUG gardeners in supporting our school with their lovely plants, fairy garden and animal ornaments that the pupils love to look at on their way into school each morning.

We were very lucky to receive new plants that were planted into our Orchard Garden area.

Hornsea Art Caravan

Pupils and staff at HCPS have really enjoyed the visit from The Hornsea Foundation Art caravan. After such a difficult year it was such a great part of our Nurture Unit at school. It was so lovely to see all the pupils enjoying themselves and being so creative.

Staff and children both alike have said that we can't wait for them to visit us again. Kerry and Syd were amazing, and nothing was too much trouble.

Quote from Kerry and Syd:

We would love to come back; we had such fun We would like to thank HCPS for our lovely visit. We enjoyed seeing all the children who were so polite such a credit to the school and their grown-ups at home.

looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Men in Sheds

At Hornsea Community Primary school we have been supporting Men in Sheds in there wonderful Easter Competition. We all decorated our classroom doors, and it has certainly brightened up our school and allowed us to be very creative.

Men in Sheds were sent an image of each of the classrooms, and we presented prizes that were donated by Tesco. The winning classes were 4MS and 6HR. We all had fun and the Easter Bunny did seem to arrive in every class. Mrs Simmonite created a PowerPoint so that we were able to see what each class had been up to. A great day was had by all. The office staff also created their own Easter Garland out of recycled materials

The children have really enjoyed dressing up today and raising money for such a good cause. We decorated and made our red noses. This year's theme was a superhero theme, so we also thought about all the people who have been superheroes in our Community. We reflected on where the money that we raise will go too including Food Banks, special days out for children as well as providing vital equipment to support children with disabilities. We have raised £372.91

Year 3 designed their own Red noses on the day as we were not allowed to wear them. As you can see there were lots of different designs!

A great big Thank you to HUG ( Hornsea Urban Gardeners) for taking care of our wonderful fairy garden. If you can spare a few hours a month to help maintain this area please contact Mrs Simmonite
