Introduction

Hornsea Community Primary School is larger than average, with almost 540 pupils aged 4 to 11 years.

We aim to provide an inclusive, individualised education for all of our pupils to help them to develop into responsible and reflective adults of Hornsea, and Britain, in the future.

HCPS is a welcoming and caring school where children flourish as individuals in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. We expect everyone to work hard and seek to improve throughout their time at school. We provide a challenging and inspiring curriculum which enables all children to fulfil their potential. Our teachers are committed to supporting every child they teach to make the best possible progress, whatever their starting points and individual needs are.

We welcome you into our school and look forward to a happy and successful association over the coming years. Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what happens within it. It is important that mutual understanding and trust be the basis of our shared responsibility.

We seek to develop a strong partnership between home and school. We value the contributions you can make in supporting your child in school and at home.

The school's philosophy and ethos are shared by all the staff who collectively strive to get the best from every child by providing a happy, caring, stable and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and, in turn, treats others with respect.

Parents are encouraged to play a major part in their child's education. Research has shown that where parents understand what a school is trying to do and take an active interest in and support their child's learning, the effects are dramatic and long lasting.

At HCPS all children will be given opportunities and experiences to inspire them to be the very best they can be. We know that every child is different and every child is great in many ways.

Through true collaboration and the sharing of ideas and views we will give the children every possible chance to shine - together we can make your children's time at school the very best it can possibly be and help to unlock their talents.

As always, we are working together for your children, because...

“Happy Children Progress and Succeed.”
