Thank you HUG!

Hornsea Community Primary School would like to say a huge Thank You to HUG Gardeners. They have once again given up their spare time to turn an area that was looking a little tired into a glorious space where our children are able to spend time reading in our Reading Garden.

They have removed 7 bags of rubbish and worked for 6 hours with 3 volunteers.

HUG gardeners continue to need volunteers to carry on this amazing work for our community.

Some wonderful tributes from HCPS children

The comment below is from Rev Tina of St Nicolas church in Hornsea

'The death of Prince Philip was made all the more poignant by the current restrictions. It occurred to me that many people are mourning loved ones, and that includes children who have lost grandparents and parents too. So the question arose of how to include children in our national sense of loss? Making a contribution in words or art seemed a good way to help children understand what had happened and allow for those difficult conversations that surround death. So I am delighted by the response from Hornsea Community Primary and will ensure these pieces are available as part of the on-going history of our town.

The Church of England offered this prayer with young children in mind:

Loving God,
We are sad that Prince Philip has died.
Thank you for his long life
and for his care for The Queen and our country.
Amen.'

Thank you Tesco

Grant from yor4good

We have been very lucky in gaining  a grant for £5000 from yor4good. This money will be used to install a fence around the Orchard Garden so that we can use this area to grow our own fruit and vegetables.
