Reading Buddies - 3AW /Green Group (EYFS)

Each Friday morning, children from 3AW and the Green Group (EYFS) read with one another for a short while. Take a look.

Sewerby Hall Visit

Year 3 had such a great day at Sewerby Hall.

We enjoyed looking around the amazing zoo and learning new things about Amy Johnson in the grand house. Although the weather was a little snowy this did not stop us from having an awesome day!!!

World Book Day

Today year 3 enjoyed World Book day, we enjoyed dressing up as our favourite characters and it was lovely to see so many grown ups in school.

We discussed jobs that we could do when we are older including being an author, proof reader and also working in a book shop.

Tesco Token Scheme

We have been lucky enough to be selected into the blue token scheme at Tesco in Hornsea.

The money received will go towards the outside learning space in EYFS.

Hornsea Lions presents HCPS with a Defibrillator

The Lions of Hornsea came into school to present us with our very own defibrillator that was received by Year 3 and Mrs Simmonite.

They have raised money for each Primary school in the area to have their own defibrillator.

3MS/3AW Let's Learn morning

We had a fantastic morning, welcoming Parents/Carers into our Mindfulness morning.

The children enjoyed sharing their jigsaw lessons, creating worry monsters and playing games that helped them to connect and be calm. Some of us even practised yoga moves.

It was really nice to come and spend some time being creative in the classroom environment with my child seeing her mix with her friends.

It was lovely to come into school to see what the children get up to Thank you for a lovely morning.

I attended the 'Mindfulness morning' and enjoyed it, the children all seemed to as well. Particularly the squares game!!

The mornings are a great idea I think and the kids all seem to enjoy engaging with other adults. I think all topic would benefit from these sessions.

As always, such a lovely informative visit. I will definitely be using some of the mindfulness activities at home.

I have really enjoyed coming in and joining in with the children. It is really great that the school does these sort of things to help with children's mental well-being. Thank you for letting us join in and see what the children do.
