This week in Maths we shall be looking at Capacity. In EYFS vocabulary such has full, half full and empty are used to describe the amount of liquid a container can hold. In this term understanding of capacity is developed further, regarding comparison of capacity between containers.
In Year 1 the measurement of volume is introduced, as in millilitres and litres. This is included in this tutorial, should you at some point wish to explore it with your child, when they have shown a good understanding of capacity using non-standard measures.
