Year 3 have had two lessons on recorders and have so far learned how to play the notes A and B. This class played these notes very successfully in this Blues piece. They not only had to think about playing the notes on recorders correctly, but also playing them in time with the rest of the class, using the correct note lengths.

Year 4 have learned how to play 4 new notes on the recorder- F,E,D and low C. The children who could confidently play these notes continued to learn to play this funk piece on recorders, while the others learned to play it on glockenspiels. They did an amazing job of playing together in ensemble!
5AW ‘Five Note Swing’
5JP ‘Five Note Swing’
Year 5 have started to learn about jazz music and how to play the keyboard, trying to use one finger for each of the five notes in this swing piece.
6SP ‘Bacharach Anorak’
Year 6 have continued to develop their skills on keyboards with this jazz piece. They practised the whole piece then played only the parts they were confident at to make a successful ensemble piece. Most children played the majority of the piece and they all improvised in the middle section.
