Some of our Year 5 children have been given the exciting opportunity of having 5 sessions with Run with It at Beverley Flemingate. They are learning Maths and English through real life experiences and have been very well behaved.
On Careers Day we really enjoyed listening to such a variety of different people from different professions. It was really interesting to find out about their jobs and the children enjoyed the opportunity to ask some really good questions!
The children came dressed up as their preferred job and we had a real mixture of jobs and outfits!
The children have really enjoyed making a start on their Roar projects! They have worked together as a group to come up with a solution to a problem in the world. They have made posters, designed their product, made a prototype, designed a logo, produced an advert and a jingle.
Jenny and Mel from The Lions came to see what we had got up to so far and they were really impressed with the children's ideas and ability to explain their product.
We are in the process of each group pitching their idea to their class and we will choose three 'winners' from each class. These winners will then be judged by members of The Lions and one overall winner will be picked. A video will then be put together and sent off to 8 Billion Ideas for national judging.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
