Memories and Moving On
During this year your child has had lots to learn about the writing process - how to write down the words that they say. Firstly, thinking what they want to write, then what the letters and sounds look like, next how they are formed in the school handwriting style, and finally all the grammar involved - capital letters and full stops!
Please feel free to browse the Year 1 English Folder. There is a super demo of the school handwriting style, together with a recommended reading list and some brilliant writing frames. Each one has a question prompt at the top and allows your child to practise their developing writing skills. You may wish to keep some and show them to your child's new teacher in September.
