Big Maths Parent/Carer Information Sessions
2 hour-long sessions were held in the KS1 hall to introduce parents and carers to the principles of Big Maths. We explained why, as a school, we continue to use Big Maths to help children to become fluent in number and encouraged all who came to do a timed Learn Its test!
We talked to children about the importance of having a positive attitude towards Mathematics and parents who attended talked about their own attitudes towards the subject.
Many parents asked for further information about Big Maths and since the evening we have produced introductory parent information leaflets. If you would like any further information about Big Maths please phone the school office.
49 families attended the information session(s) and many of these requested more similar sessions to look further into Big Maths and how they can help their child(ren) at home.
